Jakarta. The 10th Singapore Toy, Game, & Comic Convention will hit Marina Bay Sands Expo this weekend, featuring an exciting lineup of guests and personalities.
One of them is Marvel Comics editor and talent scout C. B. Cebulski. Budding artists will get an opportunity to have their portfolios reviewed by Cebulski himself. Shortlisted candidates will get to meet him for a one-on-one interview.
James C. Mulligan, one of Disney's top-selling artists whose works have been collected by famous personalities such as Hugh Hefner, Dick Van Dyke and Brad Pitt, will also be at the convention.
Joining the star-studded lineup is Emmy-winning writer and illustrator Frank Cho, known for his newspaper comic strip series "Liberty Meadows."
Others include cover artist Arthur Adams, Marvel Cinematic Universe film illustrator Adi Granov, penciler and cover artist Joyce Chin, as well as "Kabuki" author David Mack.
Visitors will also get to see performances by Japanese dance vocal groups Color Pointe and Tokyo Clear's, along with composer Yunomi feat. Nicamoq, producer group Redshift and DJ MarGenal.
Also present at the convention are toy designers, such as Hinatique and Yasu from Japan, who will make their first appearance in Singapore.
Visitors can also buy exclusive action figures and collectibles from Marvel Universe, DC Universe and the "Star Wars" saga, among others.
Live eSports Tournaments
For the first time ever, an entire hall has been prepared for the Good Game Experience (GGXP) zone, featuring nail-biting esports tournaments and the latest gaming and product showcases for visitors to try out.
Two Singapore qualifier finals of the ROG Masters 2017 tournaments will take center stage at the GGXP, playing DOTA 2 and CS:GO. Winners of both qualifiers will receive a sponsored trip to represent Singapore in the Asia and Pacific regional qualifier of the tournament in the Philippines on Oct. 26-29.
There will also be a livestream of the Singapore qualifiers on the ROG Masters website.
The GGXP center stage will host the semifinals and final of Vainglory Championship 2017-Southeast Asia on Sunday (10/09).
Experience the Force
Fans of "Star Wars" will have a chance to be transported to a galaxy far, far away because there will be a special area dedicated to the franchise, filled with fan-built vehicle replicas, games and collectibles.
There will be a replica of Kylo Ren's TIE Silencer – the first of its kind in Southeast Asia – from the upcoming movie "Star Wars: The Last Jedi."
In addition, larger-than-life fan-made props have been flown in specially for this exhibition, including Rey's Speeder, signed by film director J.J. Abrams, and a film replica of the interior of the Millennium Falcon.
Visitors to the convention can also attend an official afterparty at VLV Singapore on Sunday from at 9 p.m. onwards, featuring popular Japanese guest DJs, Camellia, kors k, kradness and Ryu.
Tickets to the convention are available on the official website, while afterparty tickets will be sold at the door at VLV Singapore.
